Hello Providence Spring Elementary! My name is Kristen Gaudioso and I am excited to join the PSE team this year as a 3rd grade teacher! Prior to coming to PSE I spent 6 wonderful years teaching at Elon Park Elementary. My first two years as an educator were spent teaching 2nd grade before looping up to 3rd. The past four years I taught 3rd grade and I absolutely love it. Last year I was honored with the award of Teacher of the Year. I will forever be grateful for the lessons and experiences that Elon Park provided me with but am thrilled to have the chance to learn and grow with another group of amazing people.
I was born and raised in Charlotte and have lived here my entire life. I come from a large Italian family, have a twin sister, and am one of five kids J. Up until 7th grade I attended a Montessori school and am thankful for the education and experiences it provided me with. My mom has been a Montessori teacher for over 30 years and she is my biggest role model. I then attended public schools within CMS. After high school I went to East Carolina University for the Education program. At ECU I earned my degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading and a minor in child psychology. Teaching is my hobby, passion, and career. I am truly dedicated to teaching to the individual students in my class. Seeing the growth my students make and the joy they have when they learn new things is what drives me. I pride myself on being a patient and creative educator and look forward to helping the children in my class surpass their goals this year.
When I am not teaching most of my time is spent running a nonprofit animal rescue that my best friend, twin, and I started this past year. It is called Angela’s Ark and we help to rescue animals both wild and domestic. Rescuing has been part of my life since I can remember and creating this nonprofit has been nothing short of a dream come true. During my actual free time, away from teaching and the Ark, you can find me with my puppy Odin, at the gym, hanging out with family and friends, traveling, or doing anything active/outdoors. I am excited for a terrific year at PSE and can’t wait to meet all of the students, families, and faculty members that make up the Providence Spring Community.
I can't wait to get this year started! Welcome to 3rd grade!
